I have to wonder: was it intentional that the first note gave a sort-of clue as to the identity of the note-writer, in a kind of vague way? At first, Lottie thought the note meant to look at the actual building. (“Why would I want to look at it? It’s just a boring brown building.”) So Lottie was examining the building’s architecture. And which character has an interest in architecture? (Hint: it’s Shauna, who was the note-writer.)

So was Lottie looking at the building itself (i.e., its architecture) a hint that the note came from Shauna, or is it just an inadvertent but convenient coincidence? (Or am I just thinking about this way harder than is necessary? Probably.)

Someone, pick up the thread for me, please? I’ve lost it. Again. For a change. OTOH, I still love the artwork.

Oh. Yeah. Mildred’s gonna be in deep trouble now. One does not double-cross the Lottie and expect to get away with it.
