    His original helmet is way better, but the rest is a major improvement – much classier. I happen to be writing this while in Norway, where we’ve seen wonderful decoration, beadwork and embroidery on the traditional bunad and traditional men’s wear. Gorgeous work. Mall-hall a is getting that part right!

    Of course, when we discuss “authenticity”, we might wish to remember that Vikings did NOT wear horned helmets. The horned helmet image got its start with a costume used in performances of Wagner’s Der Ring des Nibelungen in the 1870s. Tyr’s not very authentic either, but hey, it’s a comic . . .
