What is success? To quote Emerson (which does not mean I approve of him, only that he’s one of those ‘big’ names that gets quoted) success is, “To laugh often and much; to win the respect of the intelligent people and the affection of children; to earn the appreciation of honest critics and endure the betrayal of false friends; to appreciate beauty; to find the beauty in others; to leave the world a bit better whether by a healthy child, a garden patch, or a redeemed social condition; to know that one life has breathed easier because you lived here. This is to have succeeded.”

Er, he won’t be successful in a million years.

You mean will you ever be succesful again. Because I’d say when folks were praying to you, offering sacrifices in the hopes that you’d answer their prayers an bring them victory in battle as you were pretty successful THEN. Now, now you gotta go talk to Disney (I’d say go talk to Marvel, but Disney owns Marvel).

Norse gods understand fate. They’re personally acquainted with the Norns.

Tyr isn’t immortal. When the Ragnarök comes, he and the dog Garm will destroy each other.

Some seek immortality in sport, some in literature. Others just want to outlive their enemies.
