In this case, SUV probably stands for Sh*tty Used Vehicle.
The typo was probably where it said “35 mpg” instead of “15 mpg”.

The strip is from 2006. So far, the comments are from 1985. Getting 35 miles per gallon from an SUV is perfectly possible these days. https://www.motortrend.com/news/best-gas-mileage-suvs/
