Forget Boris Karloff. Frankenstein’s monster was a tragic figure. He was a good a decent person that was hounded and attacked by violent mob of people who couldn’t stand to see an ugly person with a speech impediment.
(In Mary Shelly’s novel, that is. When Hollywood rewrote the story, they ruined it.)
