At least here in San Diego, several smaller on line only news organizations have sprung up. They tend to be more narrowly focused than the traditional print newspaper. Our local print paper was bought by a much larger organization in LA. It has been a very mixed result, the reality is that our paper is now the San Diego bureau of the LA Times.
