Everyone in Brazil followed orders and did what they were told. And we all sat around and watched a nation destroy itself.

    Again.

Bolsonaro seems to have the same predilection for insult and the same thin skin in response to reply to insult as Trump. I’d bet they’re gonna end up good buddies…

The destruction of that rainforest is going to be an Irreplaceable loss for the entire world… it has been called the Earth’s lungs for good reason… the fact that it delivers or used to deliver huge amounts of the oxygen needed by humans to live… It was also a pharmaceutical Warehouse of knowledge of the cures for human diseases just waiting to be found… Now we’ll never find those cures because they’re being burnt to a cinder because of field clearing fires set by profit minded corporations who intend to use the property that is being cleared by those fires for their corporation’s bottom line …

It is a disaster that is partly caused by Brazilian politicians with a far too big ego. But Bolsonaro’s reaction to the rest of the world is also justified: nobody is doing anything about the historical deforestation in his own country. Do we really expect them to listen to us? We have made a big mistake, we know it, but we don’t want to correct it. Accusing Brazil is simply a political game that distracts attention from our own (politicians with their) climate change shortcomings.
