Love how Sunny doesn’t mention the fact that her family paid for that lunch (or school supplies). That’s true character, there: Doing the right thing without feeling the need to brag about it.
The looking vulnerable so a woman wants to help you out is a pretty old trick, but I think there are older ones. But I did read this in Ben Franklin’s autobiography. He would make friends of his enemies by asking to borrow a book.
