Lee Cox and any other GoComics users who are my fellow Latter-day Saints: is that drink even allowed in the Word of Wisdom? If it’s an HERBAL tea, then never mind for I drink herbal tea.

Drinking home brewed kombucha can be dangerous.

    From Wikipedia:

Numerous implausible health benefits have been attributed to drinking kombucha.9 These include claims for treating AIDS, aging, anorexia, arthritis, atherosclerosis, cancer, constipation, and diabetes, but there is no evidence to support any of these claims.79 Moreover, the beverage has caused rare cases of serious adverse effects, including fatalities, possibly arising from contamination during home preparation.1011 Therefore, the potential harms from drinking kombucha outweigh any unclear benefits, so it is not recommended for therapeutic purposes.9

Kombucha—when someone takes a perfectly innocent pot of Red Rose, leaves it on a sunny counter over the weekend to sour, and after coming across it on Monday afternoon, take the bottle of Zima dated 1995 they found in the back of the pantry, toss it in for flavor, then take the whole mess, pour it into a Mason jar, and set it in the fridge to finish brewing.

That’s what it tastes like, anyway.
