Well, the plot device used by H.G. Wells was ingenious, but I’d think that any earthling virus or bacterium would have about as much chance of being lethal to a Martian as tobacco mosaic virus or oak wilt is to humans. A very different thing from the common cold, imported by European explorers, laying waste to the native population of the New World.

I like Drive-In Movie Theaters. Too bad there’s not many of them left.
