Okay, so we don’t get to find out what happens if you interrupt the spell, but we have seen it ended. And we do know the word. If we need a wizard to incant it, we have one, more or less, (hopefully not rather less than more). (Apologies to Gilbert and Sullivan, but hey, they’re out of copyright by now.)
Either Knotty ducked under the table just after the spell ended, or entering the zone of the spell partway through does not yield any negative affects.
