I wonder if they realize that due to the loopholes/dirty-tricks used in our winner-take-all political system with representation based on the 1910 census, we end up with minority rule in our House/Senate/Presidency and have politically packed courts that also favor minority views?
do you suppose that the GOP is using this opportunity for pretending to want background checks and banning assault weapons as a way to make the NRA pay them more to do less then usual? Just another opportunity for the GOP to make promises to We the people that the GOP has no intention of keeping in order to keep the big bucks rolling into their pocketbooks.
There are no innocents on either side of the politics of this. One side, fully aware that it is futile, appears to work to do something to make the situation better; but it’s all talk. The other side, fully aware that they’re profiting themselves and their friends with the blood of the truly innocent blocks those efforts. Most of us shrug it off until it’s too close to home to ignore, or post rants like this one, and then move on. Only a few will do what is actually needed: Vote against those who block sane gun laws, even if their opponent is in some other way “bad.”
