Practically speaking, put a T in the 1st spot, and an O in the 3rd, and then see what works for the crossing word.

The fact that many folks don’t know the difference is a pet peeve of mine! Another pet peeve is the common misuse of “lose and loose”!
Fauna, Tucker is right… Just go with 2 in the middle square, the next guy to pick up the puzzle can figure it out later.
Only works in Visual Communication. And even there, it’s tired and tattered, too….
