Interesting comments considering the Europeans invaded the Americas and established Spanish and Portuguese from the Rio Grande south and English and French in the north. The Colonials freed from what was perceived as heavy handed Imperial rule expanded territory to the detriment of the existing aboriginal cultures. The UN considered Canada’s treatment of the native population as genocide and it would be fair to characterize Washington’s policies as the same. Throw in the fact that this is the 400th anniversary of the slave trade.
