Eh, Gary is right in that there was a lot of sniping at Obama’s policies by the other candidates, desperate to chip into Biden’s big lead. It wasn’t a good look, and I’m sure none of them would honestly impugn the man who gave us a nice 8-year breather between the dumpster fire of the Bush admin and the radioactive sewer inferno of the Trump regime.
It’s just one of the many, many, many reasons why this 20-man debate system is a joke. Fortunately, the threshold for the next debate is much stricter and only 8 or 9 of the current 20+ would make it, based on their current qualifications.
Still, it’s pretty amusing to see Varvel have to draw Obama in a positive light. Just look at that shiny gold plaque!
What the right can’t seem to grasp is that the candidates as well as the new progressives aren’t bashing Obama… or even his policies… they are simply saying that they didn’t go far enough. They were on the right track… but fell short of what they needed to be to cause real change in the country. And they fell short because of 2 reasons… Obama’s determination to be a great leader for the whole country… not just those who voted for him… and of course the unprecedented level of obstruction from the Republicans.
If you can’t take an honest look at someone’s record, both the good stuff and bad, and use it to help you determine better courses of action, we might as well just all kill ourselves.
