I certainly don’t see it as running away when Obama decides to hold his endorsement until later in the primaries. Obama isn’t trying to tilt the playing field unfairly this early, as it’s still over a year out. Now this time next year? Your complaint would be valid.
Anyone who thinks that Barack Obama is going to step up and endorse a candidate, even his former VP, a year before the 2020 Convention, is a FOOL.
Carter, Clinton, Obama, they’re going to wait and hold that endorsement for when it does the most good for whomever they pick. Uncle Joe is on his own for now.
Obama can’t endorse anyone until after the primary. He knows the Repub reaction to him endorsing one person in the primary and then supporting a different person if his first choice fails will be called flip-flopping, lack of integrity, or whatever other garbage the RW smear campaign can come up with.
Doesn’t anyone remember the old principle of “balancing the ticket”? President an Veep seldom are in total agreement. The differences reflect the need to bring in as many votes as possible. So why should there be early endorsement of views not shared?

That should be with Pence with Trump, definitely more appropriate. Only problem is Trump can’t run, those bone spurs will definitely slow him down!

Perhaps Dana feels that we are a monarchy, not a constitutional democratic republic?

Which is as it should be. Give it up, Dana.

I haven’t seen President Obama get involved with any candidate yet, so he isn’t running from anyone.

Biden had his opportunity in 2016. He would make a good Vice-President, though.

Obama has said he’ll not endorse any of the current candidates. Smart. I expect he’ll be fully on board for whoever does get the nomination, though.
