Are these being ‘censored’? Several Tom Toles and some others have been ‘MIA’ over the past couple weeks – I hope GoComics isn’t following the malformed ‘lead’ of the NYT International editions.

Comics Kingdom is missing all discussions. Are they trying to drive us off, and if so, what do they get out of it?

Finally! And an accurate toon to boot.

The express purpose of the census as explicitly mandated in the Constitution is for the purpose of determining apportionment of legislative districts. The specification is for all RESIDENTS, regardless of citizenship or legal status. This is a constitutional requirement — counting people for determination of congressional representation.

Certainly it is also an excellent opportunity to collect additional demographic data that is useful in determining public policy needs, and one could argue that citizenship vs. non-citizenship is useful demographic data.

But if any aspect of collecting demographic data (not the Constitutionally-stated purpose) interferes with the specific, expressed Constitutional purpose by reducing participation, then collection of that data violates the Constitution.

Any citizenship question is therefore unconstitutional, which of course means nothing to current right-wing extremist judges, and even Chief Justice Roberts, a less extreme conservative, could see that.

If this crap helps get him elected again I will lose all faith in the US.

Let’s hope his neck gets caught between the bead-strings, maybe he’ll choke.

Now Trump is dropping the census citizenship question in favor of an executive order mandating that all government agencies provide all information they have on the citizenship status of people in the U.S. As I recall, EOs were bad when the previous president used them.

Good to see Go comics editors (If they exist) had their alarm go off. Now if they could just cull the toons that have been sitting dormant for anywhere from 1 to 9 months.
