Democrats operate under the mistaken belief, there are qualities the Republiclans won’t criticize. As Karl Rove taught us, there is simply nothing they won’t attack or principle they won’t break.
Those serving in the military are mostly honorable volunteers, often seeking a bit of help to climb up the socioeconomic ladder. Their experiences often become the foundation for future success in life.
It would take us 15-20 years to wind down military industrial complex. And that assumes there is political will to do so. The military does not make us safer, though. It makes everything more volatile and dangerous.
Our aspirational ethics and values are what make us safe and strong. Diplomacy is almost always better than armed conflict. I agree that Hillary was too warlike. It was one of my biggest problems with her.
And, even though he’s a psychopathic malignant narcissist, tiny seems to have thus far mostly avoided military “answers” to international problems. I am thankful for this one part of his record so far.
trump’s avoidance of military intervention is likely the only good result of his insanity. I can’t tell you why he has avoided military conflict (so far) but it’s a blessing.
Rest assured, however that he has no plan. No grand scheme. No strategy for the use of military force. It’s just one more example of mental illness in action, and possibly the only positive thing he’s EVER done, albeit unintentionally.
That’s because trump HAS NO CHOICE in the matter. As with EVERYTHING he does, his words and actions are determined by his compulsive instincts to serve the incessant, relentless demands of his mental illness.

So serving in a field medical unit risking your life in a war isn’t good enough?

It’s sad that military “service” is touted as such a wonderful thing.

I don’t react well to being thanked for my service. What about my years of teaching? What about the other things I have done or am doing?

Rall must mean Russian voters love killers. American voters have been anti-war, except for 9/11, since the 1960s.

Remember when liar Trump promised America that he was going to stop all those wars in the mid-East?
