    Take them or drive them? At that age I think they would prefer to sit with kids their age if it’s a kid movie.

    It’s most definitely definitely NOT the same; it’s decidely meaner. In the first case, they definitely go if they wash the car, and even potentially if they don’t; in the second, they could wash the car and still not go.
