Frankly, that’s not far from what he should be doing. Heading a football (AmE “soccer ball”) is a serious impact, capable of causing major trauma on a par with boxing. There have calls from the medical profession for it to be banned for everyone but professionals over the age of 18.
So we don’t want our children to play football because of concussions, but then want then to play soccer where you hit the ball with your head purposefully?
