The official presidential library is built with private funds by the nonprofit created during FDR’s time in office for the sole purpose of raising funds and managing the construction and transition. Once built the library is administered by the National Archives, and all fees or donations go solely for the upkeep and management of the facility. The president for who the library is built gets nothing.

On the other hand, all recent presidents have written some type of autobiography and other books, articles, and are usually in demand for healthy speaking fees. Bill Clinton and Gerald Ford made millions on the speaker circuit.

And, yes, he has his business interests should he decide not to just retire. Your point?

Keep in mind that he’s been raising money since the first day he was elected for this, and the Democrats are splitting their money 24 ways right now. We’ll see that money pile difference change dramatically as we get closer to the election. (Also, how much of that money is going directly into the pockets of Trump and his family?)

I will admit that I have begun to despise those who can’t think for themselves. But that’s exactly what this president wants; us being divided. This is the payback for the 2017 tax cut which saved businesses $91 billion while greatly expanding the deficit. The companies used the money to buy back stock, initiate mergers and automate which DECREASES jobs. Then companies rewarded execs with bonuses because they met their contracted “goals” that DON’T improve the companies’ health in the long term, but now there’s money to be paid back for the tax cut so they can prevent Dems from implementing a more fair tax system.

Astounded that an apparently real person (at least there’s a history of comments) such as Noah Boddie is actually proud to have helped enrich the Orange Maroon’s filthy bag o’ lucre. Can he say “emoluments”? But according to him, the liberals are worse, because TANSTAAFL (failing to understand that liberals would prefer to spend the money on stuff that’s actually good for the nation instead of on further enriching the obscenely wealthy and the military).

Not astounded that Lisa has drawn a cartoon praising the idea that money is the most important part of politics and that her guy has so damn much of it.
