Bernie Sanders, along with Elizabeth Warren and others promoting democratic socialism have spelled out their plans on the Internet. They include how the support for food, education, healthcare and housing can be paid for. But since Lisa, etc. don’t want to bother to review it, they’ll just call it a “unicorn”. While they continue to believe Trump’s constant lies.
The tax cut of 2017 greatly expanded the deficit, and the corporate recipients did exactly what they said they would – they bought back stock, initiated mergers, and automated. They didn’t create jobs with their tax cuts, if anything they used the money to eliminate jobs. Now they’re the ones giving the money to Trump’s campaign because they know a Dem president will do all they can to get rid of that lousy tax cut plan and put in something that benefits PEOPLE.
Bernie, and especially Warren have actually run the numbers, and it’s not just feasible, it’s easy to pay for universal health care, cost-controlled higher education, increased infrastructure maintenance and no restrictions on Social Security. To simplify beyond recognition, the way to do all this is to put two policies in place:
1: Tax corporations and the rich at rates approximately what they were in the 1950s. And for Social Security, eliminate the ceiling on earnings when calculating your SS payment.
2: Spend 2/3 as much on armed forces as we are now… and put the rest into programs that the citizens actually want.
