I keep hearing that this was in the Gulf of Oman, but my brain keeps hearing echoes of “Gulf of Tonkin.” Or is it WMD?
When Chicken Hawks like Bolton and Pompeo are champing at the bit to go to war with Iran, and ships conveniently get attacked (and Iran denies a role), I would be very, very cautious about who I believe in terms of who wants war and who profits from those wars.
I am not ready to see more young American heroes offered as human sacrifices on the blood-stained altar of corporate profits for “defense contractors” of the military-industrial complex.
Obviously, there isn’t any other “actor” in the Middle East who might benefit from blaming these attacks on Iran, is there? After all, Iran doesn’t have rivals for power, does it?
Considering our country has a history of manufacturing reasons to get into wanted wars, and our current executive branch has a habit of, shall we say, straying from reality and truth, I would say the answer to “who would do such a thing” is not very clear.
GOP loves wars! It feeds their cowardly bully egos and supports all their contractor friends …..indefinitely…like Iraq, Afghanistan, not to mention the most important factor! the lives of our heroes….but what do they care?
The Saudis, Israel or the US themselves. We blew up the nuclear agreement so we could get to this point and people like you will have blood on their hands.
Oh, possibly the same people who found all those WMDs in Iraq. Possibly the same people who said Russia had no interest in the Ukraine (while Russia was invading same). Possibly the head of a hostile to the US government who is believed more by the head of the US government than the US intelligence agencies. . . . I can think of a number of qualified candidates, one of which is sitting in the Oval Office.
The video evidence of an Iranian ship coming along side one of the Japanese ships and removing an unexploded limpet mine sort of points the finger at Iran.
Who indeed.. A whole bunch of countries that would like nothing better than to see America take on Iran.. the armament countries that would profit immensely.. Bolton.. would love to have his own war.. The oil industry that Cheney supported.. Security companies like Black Watch that made a killing (literally) in Iraq. Least likely.. Iran
Many allegations, but no proof is provided. Looks like weapons of mass destruction again… Why should we believe the intelligence community? They were wrong about election interference.
