He’s not the one who should be there.

Ajit Pai and the rest of his corporate stooges who sold OUR FCC, which rightfully belongs to the citizens of the United States, to the highest bidder!

That’s who’s going to hell, not inventors.

Thank goodness for Caller I.D.! If I don’t know the number, I don’t answer!!! Or, if I happen to have the phone close by, I click on the call and immediately hang up!

John Oliver may not have the solution but he has a satisfying way to get the attention of those that do….. every 90 minutes the board of the FCC gets their very own call until they take action…..

Odd that corporate drones mostly seem to get appointed to head agencies that were designed to benefit everyone.

My wife entertains herself on occasion by messing with scam callers:

    1. “Microsoft Technical Support – there’s a problem with your Windows software.” (And you can hear the noise of a “boiler room” in the background.) She’ll say “but we don’t have a computer!!” Listening to them sputter in bafflement can be quite entertaining.

    2. Or she says something like “tell me all about it!” And then, once they get rolling, she sets the phone down on her desk and ignores them, figuring that every minute wasted by them is a minute they won’t be scamming someone more vulnerable.

    3. Or, when the Caller ID claims to be from an entire state (“California”) she just answers as Eleanor Roosevelt (in honor of Walter Matthau in Hopscotch, a great movie) and acts totally baffled, again delaying them from someone else.

Inventing something isn’t the issue. Making evil use of the invention is. But yeah.
