Hopefully, just the death throes of American do-it-yourself pseudo-Christian-politics based on hate and fear instead of love and understanding. A nasty minority has used the dark side of lowest common denominator democracy (ignorance, fear, and anger) and taken advantage of election dirty tricks to seize temporary control of government as their member numbers decline and newer, more sensible generations want no part of their aberrant thinking. Long term, the world will be a better place, and this will be just a reminder of the inevitable failure of authoritarian rule.
China was against all this. Even gave tRump time to back track it. They do it reluctantly so tRump gave us a screw you to all of us. He has all of his businesses in China.
Trump needs a coherent goal with China. Pick one thing, like intellectual property protections, and drive for that. I hate Trump but would love for him to have some successes in international relations.
