A DOJ policy is not law. If an AG decided to indict a president, there would be a new policy. Republicans need to stop talking about this as if it were written in the Constitution.

If he’d said something that plain it would have been great. However, he didn’t. He also didn’t tell us up front that he was starting from a position that said a sitting president can’t be tried at all, nor would it be fair to say he should be since he wouldn’t have his day in court (talk about circular logic there). I can’t consider Mueller a great hero, only somebody who passed the buck on to Congress…who are passing the buck to the voters.

Dems need to start impeachment, bringing Trump’s crimes out in the open will force republican congressmen to change.

Investigations of wrong-doing are being carried out in multiple committees of the House, subpoenas are being upheld in the courts, and the process is underway. It is time for some patience right now to allow the case to build to a point of success. And don’t forget the state-based investigations that the feds have no control over.

I can translate Mueller’s phrase ‘misleading’:

    It means LYING.

The question I have not seen answered if there is nothing illegal, how can “justice” be obstructed when there is nothing that was indictable in the first place. This is a poor precedent? Are Ds so lacking the confidence that they can win in 2020, that they have to resort to legal trickery to convince themselves to impeach?

With Richard Nixon, while he may not have known about Watergate until after the fact, he did in fact impede justice in trying to protect his friends, which lead to discovery of other “crimes.” With Bill Clinton, it was a weak case in which the impeachment was based, but there was an attempt to cover it all up at one point. But the evidence here is all based on collusion which if one follows the trail begin under the Barrack Obama administration, a fact that Mueller skims over.

The House can do what it wants, and I hope it does go for impeachment, as a trial in the Senate will no doubt bring all the facts to bear, not just the manufactured initial documents that started the investigation, but hopefully the misuse of the FISA/NSA databases for political purposes based on false claims. This somehow escaped Mueller.

The only good that will come out of this is the American people are not stupid. Come 2020 the people will look back at the D promises of 2018, and see the only thing that was accomplished was a failed attempt to impeach the president, while the president administration kept the economy rolling, unemployment rates down, brought trade back US control, and had to put up with four years of unwarranted hatred, blind hatred.

Hatred from a party that claims to abhor hate. Look in a mirror.

Lisa’s ed cartoon is more a reflection of reality, but that is my view, and I do realize there are others. See: https://www.gocomics.com/lisabenson/2019/05/30?ct=v&cti=1827810

Nice job of translating what Mueller tried to say, without actually saying it – Good grief!

Mr. Mueller should have channeled his " Marine Vietnam Vet" to come out and talk, and not his “well disciplined lawyer” side. Why the pussy-footing around?

It was very plain, very direct, very professional. Now it’s up to Congress and the American people.

^I’d change that to “Now it’s up to the American people”. Until McConnell is removed from his position of majority leader, Congress can do nothing. The first order of business for Democrats has GOT to be taking the Senate. Without that there is no remedy. I am less worried about the possibility of Trump’s re-election than I am by the possibility that , if that happens, we still cannot do anything about him and his corruption without control of the Congress. The Republican party has forfeited all claim to decency and respect, as is shown by the fact that a man like McConnell can be chosen by the rank and file as majority leader.

The president is above every law but impeachment. He should NOT be beneath contempt and kept in office.
