@DevilsNight, sorry to burst your bubble but there was a SAL in the 2010 movie. SAL was the computer used to see if HAL could be successfully reactivated. It had a female voice and Destiny23 is correct, part of the test was to basically put SAL to sleep and she asked “Will I dream?”
Nice quote Destiny23. Haven’t seen the movie in years but that quote brought it all back.

For the record (for any late-comers here), I was correct. SAL was the computer that said, “Will I dream?” first. HAL said it too, much later.
