The U.S. is finding out that other nations rush into the voids left by not trading with nations. It is going to take years, if ever, to win back those markets after relations have normalized. And the farmers, workers, and business people of the U.S. pay the price.
The investors and voters have very short-term memory and are overly optimistic. They will all soon forget this turmoil and go back to their happy ways.
