The trick, in politics, is to already never have done anything that will, some time in the future, become a talking point against you. Or in other words, you have to not only want to wade in that cesspool, you have to be lucky too.
I suppose selecting our leaders to be the ones who’re proven lucky isn’t quite as insane as it looks at first.
