Joe Biden is not my favorite person, but I think this is a bit overblown. Or maybe the current generation really is a bunch of hot house flowers. Personally I’ve never been a toucher around people who weren’t family. But I recall back in HS & College I was in just about any play I wanted to be in, and when I was suppose to show affection to a female player my default was to touch her upper arms or shoulders. I was told that that was the way you treated a sister or cousin not someone you were interested in.
Can anyone talk about Biden’s creepy behavior without invoking Trump’s deeds? Joe is a weird, overly touchy-feely dude but that should not make a bit of difference regarding his qualifications for office. I can understand why republicans are harping on it but their audiences aren’t Biden supporters. They’ll do no harm. The overly PC left, however, along with the more progressive sect, are clearly motivated to damage Biden’s chances. He’s too moderate, too old, too male and way too white. He’s also probably the best guy to beat Trump.
Okay. So far, all I’ve heard is that Joe Biden made some women “uncomfortable.” I have heard no allegations of actual sexual misconduct. Even one of the women complaining went so far as to say she was uncomfortable but not sexually assaulted. I daresay the Right will tell me I’m nit-picking, but I believe (and from some women who have commented on this issue) that there is, in fact, a difference. Furthermore, the president is trying to lump Mr. Biden into the president’s frame of misconduct. Sorry, Mr. Trump, that won’t wash. But then again, Mr. Trump, you are not known for your veracity or accuracy.
I was sympathetic to Joe Biden (and I am a fervent #metoo-er) right up until he gave that stupid speech abut how social mores have changed. If it’s NOT OK now, it wasn’t OK then! Yet another example of men just not getting it. Slavery and child labor were social norms too and they never were and never will be right.Keep your lame apologies and just say you were too caught up in your own power to recognize anyone else’s feelings-then and now.I still think he’s not a bad guy, unlike the obscenity in the White House. He’s just clueless.
Too bad for Biden. Watching a public figure submit to the Twitter Mob and engage in a Cultural Revolution-style struggle session is disconcerting. He might as well have worn a dunce cap. At least he wasn’t tortured or executed (so far).Soon a pol kissing a baby will be accused of pedophilia … oh, wait. Maybe that is OK. The rules change so fast.
