   Reasonable. But there are many relevant matters before us. Sixty-five percent of African American children live in single-parent homes. Far too many are forced into useless schools to placate teachers’ unions. I would decertify the unions; let nonperforming public schools compete or wither away and let parents choose their children’s school. Black kids leaving school unable to read is also wanton cruelty and shameful. That’s the policy hill I have chosen to die on but I can see plenty of others on the horizon. Please choose your own. We can walk and chew gum at the same time.

Let’s face it, bubba you and your ilk have been in charge of big urban cities for decades. Mutiple trillions have been shoveled into minority neighborhoods by libs and things are worse than before the 1965 Civil Rights Act. That’s on you.The left owns the city councils, the mayors and the police. You, Old Coal, are the guy forcing black kids into crap schools—that will forever remain crap schools because you want union campaign money—not some poor guy on a farm in the Midwest. It’s you. You are the guy that claims school choice is some despicable plot, not me. Here’s a data point for you:On May 31, 19 Chicago residents were killed. This was the single deadliest day in Chicago in six decades, according to the University of Chicago Crime Lab. Those deaths are also on you, Old Lib.

   Wrong that is not what is being sought. The woke left is deadly serious about defunding the police. Defunding as defined as fire all current cops and replace them with our own cops. Think BLM and Antifa with guns. (OTH, I agree with you on the militarization of police forces. My university town had its very own APC. Get rid of no-knock warrants while you are at it.)

   Indeed. I am taking a knee as I write this apologia. Thousands of “young black men” have been shot by … other blacks this year. 10 blacks (1 woman) have been shot dead by cops. Eighty-plus cops have died on the job. Now, if you want to discuss the no-hope schools you liberals and your unions force black kids to attend, we can have that horror story.
