Yeah Tigger, didn’t you know the Democrats were completely civil and cooperative with Bush? They were sweet angels, just sitting there waiting to have meaningful exchanges with him and wanting to make everyone work out their differences with song birds in the air.

^Compared to the way the Dems were treated by Tom DeLay and Dick Cheney that’s very close to the truth actually.

    But nice try anyway.

Most dems, when they castigated Bush, did so because of his policies and his blatant incompetency. The repubs just wanna get rid of Obama and pay no heed to either what he has tried to do or what they should have done when they were in power.

You are right about tigger, Clark.

^ Notice that jm gives no facts, or even examples to support his argument. Tigger and lorax are correct simply because they’re members of his tribe, no questions asked, no actual justification needed.

The current Republican majority operates completely fact free. The CBO is “entitled to its opinion.” We will have open discussion on every bill… except every one we’ve introduced to date. We will require a constitutional justification of every bill… except every one we’ve introduced to date. We will ignore all science, all economics, the very concept of checking our statements with math.

Jm is merely joining his cronies here in blinkering his own eyes, sticking his fingers in his ears.

Democrats did it then for the same and only reason Republicans are doing it now; Control and political gain.

I’m surprised someone would find it an outrageous lie to suggest that a party in minority status would have pure motives in being as obstinant and as mocking towards their opponent as possible.

Do you think the Republicans would have had as much success as they recently have I’d they had spent their time acting nice and playing along? Of course not, it’s the thing to do. Fire up the base and try to winback the people who were on the fence for the next vote. Democrats did the same thing with their “why can’t you reach across the isle” and “worst president ever” rhetoric. It’s a game; the important thing is for people to understand it for what it is, even if you do like that party and hate the other one.

^ “Worst president ever” is not rhetoric. Maybe you needed to live through it, like we did.

Tigger….this is just the expected collision debris from posters inhabiting alternate realities….trying to justify their hate for Citizens of God’s World of Light.

I wonder what democrats do to stay “outside the box”? (eat bad mushrooms, tune in to The Dark Side frequencies only, or indulge in imaginary fanstasy day by day?)

You are correct….the Democratic Majority treated President Bush as a discarded leader….his legally required budget proposals were declared “Dead On Arrival” and his policies were sabotaged as the Democrat “rule of thumb”….

Actually, Jan ‘07 was the collapse of the American economy. No doubt about it to anybody who was actually working and had a 401K. But most libs suck off us working stiffs, so they wouldn’t know. Pirate - you should have been alive in the 1970’s if you wanted to experience the worst first-hand. You young punks wouldn’t remember. Carter will be anchored forever in last place.

It’s like this jack…your question is on the order of ‘Have you stopped doing crack?’

No one with half a brain answers that kind of question.

    Or asks it.

Bottom line, the Dems did not do to Bush what the current crops of Repubs want to do to Obama; they were talking impeachment before the election…whereas the the first thing the Dems did in 2007 was take it off the table.

What I truly find hilarious is Loco’s claim that the economy suddenly went bad when the Dems took over, and nothing was going wrong before then.

Actually there’s a lot of doubt about that to those who aren’t right-wing lemmings.

Question: Did Democrats vote against Bush’s AIDS measures (even at all?) simply because Bush, a Republican, was the President?

Republicans have voted against their own interests SOLELY because Obama, a Democrat, is President.

Individual Democrats treated Bush similarly, but they couldn’t get a concerted effort going. Carter, like Obama, inherited an economy in the dumps. Then, high unemployment was partly driven by draftees returning from ‘Nam, & boat people. Now it’s outsourcing. Now, beef is steep, but available. Then, ground turkey started showing up in stores, as an alternative to horse or soy. Every generation remembers their best of times as a golden age & their worst as the worst ever.

Loco, I was alive in the ’70s and I remember the Carter years well.

    My statement stands.
