I don’t know how many black socks I have myself, but I know I have zero navy blue and three brown. As for white, don’t know either.

I only wear black and blue socks. When I get a new pair I sew a dot on the toe with different color embroidery thread. The Worlds Softest Socks. Hanes I believe. I’m not OCD. I’m not! I’m not!

About 40 years ago my Mother-in-law gave me a dozen pairs of black socks all alike. They lasted me for many years and I never had any trouble finding a mate to my sock, When they finally wore out I have tried to find another decent dozen pairs all alike but it seems impossible. Most of the time the sell socks in a package of three different pair or they will only have a very few pair alike of the ones they sell by the single pair. I tried the ecco store and they swore that they would have some more in stock shortly. I bought some more with the exact same item number and description but they are not like the first pairs. They are the same material/weave but they are not the same length. Aggravating to put on a pair of socks and find one that goes up much higher on your leg than the other.

After retiring my hubby decided to ignore clothing conventions and started wearing loud, patterned socks and shorts. It has been a hit with the family because now everyone knows what to get him for Christmas. And he’s easy to spot in a crowd.

A lot of black socks are navy after a few washings.

When my 2 bros were teenagers, our mom solved the “sock sorting problem” by buying all white sox for my dad, all black ones for one of my bros, & all navy ones for my other bro. Then she tossed all one bro’s clean sox in one basket, all the other’s in another, & told them to fold them themselves.

well I have some black socks I accidentally have been bleached a little. So I have some socks a little tie-died and look a little funky but who cares.

I do okay with socks by sticking only to white ones of one type and black ones of one type. But one time I really goofed with shoes. I was in nursing school back when nurses still wore actual white leather nurse shoes. I had 2 pairs, similar but not identical. Since hubby worked nights and I had to get up before the crack of dawn, I would get dressed in the dark so as not to wake him up. When I got to the first day of clinical at a new hospital, I was horrified to see that I was wearing one shoe of each different pair! I don’t know if anyone else noticed, but I was sure glad when that day was over! After that, I kept one pair in the closet and got out the other pair at night to get dressed with the next dfay.
