Mr. Ramirez is making a good statement for vaccinations. Great.Mr. Ramirez is blaming anti vaccination on “Celebrities”. What the heck?Does Mr. Ramirez want to vaccinate us against “Celebrities”?

Getting an “anti-celebrity” vaccine wouldn’t be a bad idea.

I take it you are too young to have seen something like polio.

I’m with you all they way, Mikey. Of course, this raises the question, if this is truly a nonpartisan issue, as it was when we started requiring universal immunization, who is sponsoring, or failing to enforce, the laws rolling back immunization requirements? Is this not a case where Federal action on behalf of the health of the entire nation should supercede local authority?

^ I agree; I don’t personally know anyone who died from measles or mumps; therefore, no one ever died from measles or mumps.

This is not a totally wrong or totally right issue. It is extremely complicated. I find it interesting to see how many people trust the government that is in cahoots with the pharmaceutical industry. Imagine having a product that (by mandate) everybody in the country is forced to use. It would be great to be that company. So much of the research is tainted ; it is performed by people being paid by the drug company to prove its efficacy. Lipitor is a prime example; possibly the biggest hoax pulled on the American public; only research that was positive was presented. The negative was quashed. I am glad I don’t have kids. I would have to research the merits of each of the vaccines; and that is hoping I could find truly independent studies. So many people sitting on our government oversight agencies have ties to the drug, meat, dairy and other big industries; the proverbial fox watching the hen house.

There are vaccination risks which will threaten the health of some people. Statistically, it’s much better to vaccinate, but individually it is not always. A kid from a family we know almost died from a vaccination, and the mother decided not to have any of her three kids vaccinated since. Some vaccines are using active (weakened) pathogens, causing the real desease, in a mild form – if everything goes well. But it not always works well, and the vaccinated person may even infect other, ill or weak, people. The question is, should you lie to the people and say “there is no risk” to get them vaccinated, or is it better to tell them the truth?

This is a good comic! Spot on!

But I have to admit, it does kind of annoy me when Ramirez draws a cartoon completely devoid of right wing lies and propaganda. It shows once again that he is perfectly capable of drawing honest cartoons but just chooses not to, most of the time.
