Yeah, it works the same for most folks. Dogs and people are usually the most obedient when they are sick or tired. I think that is mostly because obedience usually means stay quite and stay where I want you.

Stay quiet. Makes more sense than “stay quite”. Peace.

So, if the last owner took the time to take Annie to Obedience School, why didn’t she keep Annie? The last panel makes you want to interrupt her nap and give her a hug.

Our St Bernard will stay, but only as long as she knows we are watching

Mine is very good at two commands: “Scarf your food” and “take a nap.”

All my guys went to obedience school. Like children, they didn’t listen too well when they were young. They would often push at the limits, but as they matured, all that early education kicked in.

To some people animals are disposable just as adopted children.

Annie is tired of being shuttled around. Please give her a permanent home.

I had two dogs and a teeny chihuahua. Twiggy was mauled by a new dog that hopped our back fence. (She died in her mom’s arms on heavy pain killers.) But then we heard of a soon-to-be-bait chihuahua puppy who needed a home. He is a true lover who made our middle-aged mini shar pei a puppy again! TL;DR – Rescuing dogs is doing The Lord’s work.
