Noooo—-leave the most recent hires in place. Lay off the oldest ones, [with one exception to avoid a lawsuit] since they are near retirement, cost more in salary and health/disability coverage, and have the most vacation time built up. Duh!!
And now the VP can get a nice big bonus!
Glad I’m retired – this is exactly the process my old company used…
we used to call them “new fires”
Sounds like a company I use to work for. They would have a culling of clerks and lower management the hire some “consultants”.
