I was an instructor in the military and really enjoyed it. A friend was a high school teacher and invited me to audit his class. I went a couple of times and decided that if, I was to become a civilian teacher, I would only teach adults that want to learn.
I didn’t drink beer as I I’m allergic to the formaldehyde they put in it as a preservative. When I was in England in the 70’s, we went to a local pub and I tried their beer, no formaldehyde, and the flavor was awesome. The room temp didn’t bother me. Now, we have a microbrewery nearby and they don’t use formaldehyde so I enjoy their beers.
The wife and I generally split a meal and if we have different items, we take it home too. We ate at a steak house in Denver and had the Tomahawk (huge steak) and got 2 more meals out of it at home.
My neighbor had a business partner who let his dog run free – it came on my property and went after my cats. I walked over and talked to the business partner and told him all dogs on my property that threaten my cats go to heaven – he hasn’t brought the dog back since.
To replace the road tax calculated into the fuel prices, but that’s still not enough – the weight of the EV’s because of the large batteries is destroying the roads which they’re just now figuring out.
Photographers trick to keep the tree rats away from the bird feeders – been doing it for years. A friend used to feed the tree rats until they got into his attic and caused over $20,000 in damages – they, like raccoons, are destructive little creatures.
My nephews live on a farm – they too learned not be “bored” – the fields and yards and walkways always needed the rocks picked out and stacked or the barn needed to be swept out – or the stock yard needed to be shoveled out…
Went to a neighborhood pool party in July 1966 and enjoyed a band that called themselves the Doors – met all the members, had a good chat with Jim Morrison. They played the iconic “Light My Fire” and we loved it – they recorded the song a month later and released it in Jan ’67.
