If I remember correctly shortly after McConnell was elected to the Senate, he was considered by some as the dumbest senator of the time, according to a WashPost article. I don’t think he’s gotten any smarter, more like the Republican party has dumbed down to his level.

Mitch will be avoiding his own as well for a while.

Mitch and Co. have been stuffing the judiciary with people that don’t belong there. Even if there is legal challenge, they have tilted the scales in their favor for a long time. Forget finding 12 unbiased jury, it will be hard finding unbiased judges now.
