I used to make ashtrays as a kid long long ago. Not the sort of thing they encourage anymore. How about a soap dish instead.

My mother gave us a large hand-made ashtray as a house-warming gift. We had already said there would be no smoking in our home. Dad smoked a pipe, whenever and wherever, and pretty much every waking moment.

Will she get one? She’s old enough, probably. And that dog she befriended ages ago never really panned out.
