Sound travels slower than light. Even your own voice through bone takes time. You may already be dead and not even hear the sound of your own croaking yet.
T-Rex is technically right on this, it’s just that the time difference the light takes to travel from hand to eyeball is so small that it’s pretty much irrelevant to our brains.
