    Well, yeah.

But many defense contractors MADE MONEY! A ton of money!

    .

So it was all worth it.

    .

Isn’t that what real patriotism is all about?

    USA! USA! USA!

    .

Don’t fear, fellow Americans! We have God and Captain Bone Spurs on our side (God could not be reached for comment).

My suggestion in 2001 was to militarily target Al Qaeda very specifically (and not just any “suspects”) while destabilizing the Afghan government by dropping very large quantities of decadent and sinful western consumer products all over the country. It would have cost Billions and may not have worked, but would have been better, cheaper and cost fewer lives that what they did.

Ted Rall: How do you know that that wasn’t the assessment of the Intelligence Community?

Revenge never has a monetary value.. After all.. it is neither the politicians blood or money that is spent.

Did the CIA go wrong because they were out of their area of expertise, unable to assess the situation in a non-white, non-Christian society? Did they get it right and just tell Curious George what they thought he wanted to hear? Or, did they get it mostly right (money talks no matter what society you operate in) and tell it wrong because their major motivator is to advance the American Empire and further enrich the military-industrial complex and its rich owners?

That’s probably what they said. And Bush responded, “Great!”

Remember when the U.S. dropped food aid packages that were the same color and size as cluster bombs?

They probably did tell liar W just that.

But W wanted a war cause he thought it would make him look good.

    Republican presidents are amoral idiots.

And we are still in Afghanistan because Republicans and arms manufacturers want to keep wars going so they will profit off the American tax dollar.

Weird how George W. looks less evil now than he was drawn during his presidency.

Cheney never listened to the CIA.

He had his own agenda and stuck with it regardless of the facts.

He’ll go for it as soon as he figures out how to get his cut from the $13 Trillion.
