    He got a LOAD of ants out of that tree, as he is noticeably “heftier” in the third panel. But, ants are known to inhabit and overrun tree stumps… however the tree in this one still has leaves, so it couldn’t be alive any longer, especially with the “eatanter” tearing it up like he did… but as some here like to tell us all: it’s a COMIC! ;-)

    Good thing the eatanter was designed to be tough and flexible. The GMO engineers wanted the life they created to be near impervious to death for the new humans and animals to survive the Super Hot House future we have made for ourselves. The ones not in space or the Poles that is. I am being quite positive that we will have such technology to accomplish it.
