Like he hadn’t already read it before everyone else did anyway.

It is a deadline in a way. When one has not been properly taught to read, one’s ability to translate/comprehend is delayed. Too great a delay brings slowed mental growth and a life-long struggle. Taught it, saw the results, know it.

It’s one thing to question authority, but pointless questions lead to nowhere. Try not to be a rebel without a clue.

Read it decades ago. He was a great SciFi/fantasy writer. I think I’ve mentioned before Bradbury’s Dandelion Wine is my favorite of his novels

Oh, c’mon! Read it! The first story I remember reading in grade school was a Ray Bradbury one, too.

Wieden + Kennedy is to advertising what Nike is to shoes. It’s arguable that without Wieden + Kennedy, Nike wouldn’t BE to shoes what Nike is to shoes. They’re responsible for two slogans so great it’s almost a shame the were advertisements:

“There is no finish line”and, of course,“Just do it.”

The two go together nicely. Especially as I think about deadlines. A less talented copy writer, like me, might write something like, “When you’re in the moment, there is no deadline.”

I have some other thoughts on the subject that would probably just clutter up the concept without really adding anything, but I’ve got to get this finished and posted and get going on the rest of my day. So deadlines are good. Because eventually you’ve got to turn “Just do it” into “Just get it done.”
