Trump said he is PROUD to own the shutdown (see video posted by docrucker). The Dems are at a convention discussing how to overcome the damage done by Hurricane Maria and improve the economy in Puerto Rico. Maybe Varvel has never been to a convention, but there is always downtime included and there are mixers sponsored by a vendor or service provider that include food and alcohol and the local attractions.

Where’s Mitch McConnell? He could open the government up. The fact that he isn’t allowing votes on the relevant bills seems desperate. It is an all-or-nothing play.

Is Mitch waiting for some perverse miracle? A real national emergency (besides Trump’s “administration”) that will cause the country to unify behind Trump and the Republican Party? A false flag attack? Plague? Klingons landing?

McConnell may not want to be one of the leaders of the Republican Party as it crumbles, but he is. He may not want to protect the country’s interests over his party’s, but he should. His place in history is forming.

Why would Trump be blamed for the shutdown? He said himself that he would proudly shut down the government, and that he was “taking the mantle”, that’s why. Negotiations are stalling because Trump does not want to compromise by reopening the government and then negotiating on the wall. The Democrats have offered compromises. Trump has refused them. This is Trump’s and only Trump’s fault.

McConnell can push this through anytime he wants.

Ok, enough of the crap. All you people who DON’T blame trump, I BEG you to please listen to what he has said HIMSELF. PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE! “I’ll be the one to shut it down. I will take the mantle.” And ask yourselves, as many have already pointed out; why didn’t he do this when he had all the power? Come on people, wake up!

Speaking of “vacatios” I wonder if Mr. Varvel read the statement from BLOATUS’ “economic advisor” Hassett, spewing that Fed Workers are actually getting a “vacation” and are better off. Another rock turned over

blamed, and rightly so. And who was it going to go to Florida when this whole shutdown showdown commenced?
