OK, which way is the joke supposed to go? Garfield emptied the jar immediately after Jon spent an hour opening it? Or Jon spent an hour trying to open an empty jar?
Either way is funny, but the latter makes Jon seem stupider so I’m going to run with that. It also remains valid in a “minus Garfield” context.

I’ve been eating grits for breakfast lately. A teaspoon of peanut butter and one of brown sugar (brown sugar Splenda in my case) and it’s great!
