heck, Pluggers can remember when Radio Shake’s name made sense, because they sold components to make your own electronics.

I got my mail order walkie talkie s from Allied Electronics (or was it Lafayette?).

I built my first shortwave receiver from a Heathkit – great value and exciting fun. I miss them…
