In spring kids at my elementary school used to take the teacher lilacs or other spring flowers. All we had in our yard was dandelions, so one day when I was about seven I went across the street and picked one of the (elderly) neighbour’s tulips and hid it in my book bag to take to school. A few years ago I realised that there were 3 large windows facing the lawn on that side of their house, they probably saw me do it. But they never said a word.

I did see a few classmates bring an apple to class for the teacher. Not sure that counts, though. It was in high school and they were bringing an apple they’d picked up during lunch to class. Always thought you were supposed to bring it from home.

I took an apple to school for my teacher at least once, in elementary school.

She said she would eat it later, but I didn’t believe her. I figured she would throw it out when I wasn’t looking. It was the early 70s: Who would eat an apple some kid gave them??
