I saw a video of a kitty looking at a picture on a phone of his owner who had passed away awhile ago. He sat and looked, then he rubbed his face and head all over the phone then he curled up around it. Must have been really humid when I was watching that, my face was all wet. :’(
I saw a video of a young chimp being returned to his foster parents after a long absence. He let out a surprised screech and then hugged them so thoroughly, just like any little person. Very moving.
As I said in my other post, this is sweet but it is also very sad as well.We adopted our eight year old dog Brutus five years ago. We are actually his fourth owners (long story and unfortunate circumstances but he was well loved and cared for). That is his big smiling face in my avatar picThis past weekend we were able to obtain some missing paperwork from his previous owners. I found an address in Oklahoma where he was born. Using google maps I was able to locate and actually SEE the place. As I suspected it was a dumpy house with a barn on a dirt road, the yard was strewn with garbage.From there he and his siblings were sent to a well known puppy mill broker in Missouri and then trucked here to New England where he ended up in a local Petland. A little boy saw him in the window of the store and fell in love. It was pure luck, and those unfortunate circumstances, that led to him ending up in our home. He is a very sweet, healthy 18 lb Pomeranian. Remarkable considering where he came from. He’s a survivor indeed.I think about his siblings and his parents and wonder what may have happened to them. It breaks my heart.
