A toboggan is a hat?? I come from England where a toboggan is a sledge. (Or do you Americans call it a sleigh?)

I’ve heard of ski caps but toboggans are some form of sled, or is it the other way around?
When I hear “toboggan cap”, it makes me picture one of those cone-shaped caps with a fluff-ball at the tip that’s long enough to wrap around one’s face and neck.
