Steve Kelley for November 28, 2018

Apparently Steve Kelley is utterly clueless (as usual) as to the results of this month’s midterms.

There was a MASSIVE BLUE WAVE, largely because many moderate Republicans had expected the cooler heads in their own party to help hold Trump responsible. But they abdicated their oversight responsibility and, as a result, TEN MILLION more votes for Democrats than Republicans in this month’s Senate races, and NINE MILLION more votes for Democrats than Republicans in this month’s House races.

The Senate had 35 seats up for grabs; the Democrats were defending 29 and held most of them plus two pick-ups. In 2020, it will be reversed. It will be REPUBLICANS who are defending the most seats — INCLUDING McCONNELL who is up for re-election in 2020 — and he can read the tea leaves. McConnell will be forced to work with Democrats for once to get anything done and to minimize the bloodbath his party will be facing next time around.

In the House, where all seats were up, despite unprecedented gerrymandering, the Democrats picked up FORTY new House seats and took control.

Yes, the Democrats must put forth a positive agenda of constructive policies that people want (and consistent with what people voted for in ballot initiatives). But the people do want oversight and accountability and, yes, the Democrats can and must provide that as well.

Democrats can do more than one thing at a time; we can walk and chew gum.

Integrity thwarted by the corrupt conservative congress is still integrity.

This needs to be updated to a malfunctioning vape pen. And Kavanaugh is still the real ass.

It ain’t Democrats and it ain’t ‘The Left’ who are investigating Trump.

Of course Trump Disciples like Kelley believe that.

    You know, analysis skills.

Kavanaugh is still unfit for his ill-won position on the highest court in our government – it’s just that the Republican Senate chose to ignore the obvious and confirmed him anyway. And the same thing will probably happen with Trump and the Russia investigation; the Republican Senate has his back for their own nefarious reasons. Like Al Capone, it will probably end up being tax fraud or something similar to bring Trump down.

A ten million popular vote, 40-seat swing in the House. A 15 million popular vote margin for the Senate, winning two thirds of the seats up for election. Yeah, that blew up in the Democrat’s faces.

Um….where was there any evidence of any wrong-doing? You have to have evidence – proof – unless you’re one of those who just likes to hang people without caring whether they’re innocent or not….just like dictators – or perhaps you should watch The Oxbow Incident – good movie on just such a topic…

If by blowing up he means that the GOP led “investigation” into Kavanaugh was a restricted rushed and sabotaged farce … then yeah Kelley has a point.

to suggest there was a real investigation into Kavanaugh is the joke. and there have been indictments and convictions related to the investigation into russian interference in the election that are close and getting closer to trump.

Kavanaugh lied to Congress in 2004-2006 when he lied that he was not involved in discussions about POWs being tortured during Iraq and Afghanistan wars. But the documents from when Kavanaugh worked for Bush 43 administration wrere blocked from review, despite Kavanaugh describing this period as “most important” to him as a judge. He started out the Dr. Ford hearing with a highly partisan rant, Kavanaugh showed he should not be a judge in ANY court, much less SCOTUS. Then he disrespected the Senators asking the questions – he wouldn’t answer questions about his drinking and then asked “what about you?”. Kavanaugh lied about the definitions of ralphing, boofing and Devil’s triangle.

But Kelley and the Republicans don’t have a problem with any of this.

“The left” is not asking for impeachment because the Senate will not approve it. Investigations are what are on the table.

    He has a valid point.

Yes, there WAS a serious investigation of K. Several. You can piss and whine all you want. The security clearance background checks he underwent when working for the Bush WH would have turned up any serious issues. At that level they crawl up your rump with a microscope. They interview EVERYONE. Family, friends, employers, neighbors, teachers, classmates.

Yes, the K debacle blew up in the Dems faces. It was horribly blatantly political and only the truly rabid haters understand that. Just as the vast majority of Americans understand that the threatened “investigations” by House Dems are nothing more than distractions and fishing expeditions. Pure politics.

Yes, the Dems will pay a price in 2020 if Nancy can’t reign in her drooling mob.

Could Kelley be getting his inspiration from Sanders and Conway in the West Wing?
